To perform the Beginner Yoga Downward Dog Pose begin by forming a table top position, on your hands and knees, on a comfortable mat. Your hands should be directly below your shoulder and your knees should be directly below your hips. Tuck your toes under so that they are pushing on the mat. Straighten your legs and raise your hips to the ceiling. For some people it may be more comfortable o bend your knees slightly. Make sure your body weight is pushing toward your legs and your head is almost touching the floor. Hold this pose for 5 full breaths before releasing back to table top position.
