Doggy breath can be quite strong when your pet has tarar buildup on their teeth and gums. It is very important to check your dogs teeth and gums weekly. Cleaning your pets teeth is quite simple and make sure you never use toothpaste. First you need a toothbrush, doggy toothpaste or a mixture of baking soda and water will work fine. Always have a bowl of water handy for your pet to rinse. First inspect your dogs gums and teeth weekly. As necessary put either water & baking soda or doffy toothpaste on the brush and begin brushing the dogs teeth. If you let it go to long you may need to have your vet do a very thorough cleaning with placing the dog under anesthesia. Be sure and reward your dog with a treat when you are done. In the event you have any problem areas or concern be sure and call your vet. Also dry food is better for your pets teeth than canned food. |
