Now you are going to learn the side kick and shuffle sidekick in Kick Boxing. For the side kick, you are going to be facing sideways. You are going to bring up your knee and kick out. When you are kicking you will be kicking mostly with your heel not with your toe. A variation of this is the shuffle sidekick. It's the same kick but has a little bit more power. You are going to start with your legs shoulder distance apart. You are going to shuffle in and then bring your knee up and kick.
Remember as you are doing the side kick you want to remember to keep your gravity centered. By keeping your arms up and our elbows in. You don't want your elbows to fly out while you are kicking. The more your arms open up, the more you lose your center of gravity. And having a good balance is very important to a good kick. |
