You are going to need to start out with stretching for your cardio kick-boxing workout. To start you are going to bring your right leg in and our left leg out, and you are going to stretch towards our toe. YOu will feel this in the back of your knee hold this stretch for a count of 20. Then you are going to switch and do the same stretch with the other leg for another count of 20. Now bring both of your heels in for the butterfly stretch, bring your legs in as far as is comfortable for you. The key to this stretch is bringing your knees down until you feel it on the insides of your thigh. Hold this stetch for a count of 20 as well. Now put both of your legs in front of you and stretch towards your toes. Hold this stretch for 20. Now you are going to bring your right leg over, put your elbow on your knees, and stretch facing the right, stretching your lower back. Hold this stretch for a 20 count as well. Now switch and do the same with the left leg, facing the left and hold this for 20 as well. This is called the Hollywood stretch.
You are going to finish off by stretching your arms, bringing your wrists together and pulling your arm across your body, stretching out for a count of 20 then switch for another 20 count. Now bring your elbow up putting your hand behind your head toward your back, pressing down on it until we feel the stretch here. Hold for a count of 20 then switch and hold for another 20 count. That is the stretching you need to do before your workouts to get your body ready to exercise. |
