There are a few different cardio kickboxing kicks. The first is the snap kick. Start with your right leg forward and your arms up. Now you are going to bring up your knee and snap your leg upwards. You can do this at any height, depending on your flexibility. This kick can be done high or low, usually it's not done any lower than groin level. You will want to keep your arms up and your elbows in, if your arms come out you will lose your balance.
The next kick is called the hook kick. You are going to have your arms up and then kick to the side. You are going to turn the same way you are doing the kick. It may help to pretend that there's a rope here and that you are grabbing it and pulling it as you kick.
The last kick is called the crescent kick because it comes over like a crescent. Imagine that there is something in front of you, you are going to have your arms up. Now you are going to pick up your heel and swing over something, putting your back to where you started. |
