You will have wanted to prepare your slip and have it ready in a mustard bottle prior to beginning the slip trailing of your toad dome home. Make sure you do not have it separating by giving it a little test squirt and making sure the thickness is what you desire it to be before applying it to your dome. Take your mustard bottle and begin gently squeezing around the lines you made previously when you began decorating you r toad home. This is a relatively simple way to add decoration to your home. You will need to allow extra drying time because this slip is so wet, and the clay underneath is not. Since you have not scored it, the slip will need to dry slowly so that it does not pop off while it is drying. Put your dome under cover or in a damp closet while it is drying so that it can dry slowly. Glazing your dome will take it a little more obvious what design you slipped onto the outside of it. |
