It is tempting, when working from home, to just set up shop wherever is convenient. On your couch, at the dining room table, in your bedroom, etc. However this is really not the best environment to be productive in. The best thing to do is set up a home office, something that is designated as your space. Decorate it in a way that will help you be calm and allow you to think clearly, free of any clutter or chaos. If you can not dedicate an entire room as your office try to make sure that these is at least a corner or area of the house that is only yours. That is your work station. This is where you will go when you are working and your family, friends and any other people who may be distrations will know that while you are there working you should not be bothered. It will help set up some boundaries. Having your own work space can really help improve your productivity. |
